New Ads for North Carolina Legislative Candidates Fighting to Get Big Money Out of Politics

Oct 08, 2020

End Citizens United’s (ECU) state-level affiliate, Fight For Reform, is launching a digital ad campaign totaling $100,000 to support endorsed Democratic state legislative candidates in North Carolina. The candidates are Nicole Quick (HD-59), Ricky Hurtado (HD-63), and J.D. Wooten (SD-24). The ads encourage North Carolinians to vote for these Democratic reformers in the state’s important down-ballot races, and they highlight the candidates’ commitment to taking on corruption to make government work for the people. The candidates will unrig the system by getting Big Money out of politics and protecting the right to vote.

“Health care, voting rights, and rooting out government corruption are all on the ballot this November,” said ECU President Tiffany Muller. “Electing reform-focused Democratic legislators is key to protecting our fundamental rights that are under attack. These three reformers are fighting to reduce Big Money’s stranglehold over the North Carolina General Assembly and protect every North Carolinian’s right to vote. There’s so much at stake, and their victories are critical to making government work for families in the Old North State.”

The digital ads will run from October 6 through Election Day.

End Citizens United’s affiliated project, Fight for Reform (FFR), focuses on reforming government and bringing transparency and accountability through state and local elections around the country.
