As McSally’s favorability plummets, Mark Kelly leads by seven points
64 percent of Arizonans believe that McSally is “beholden to campaign donors”
A new poll of Arizona voters, commissioned by End Citizens United (ECU) and Let America Vote (LAV) and conducted by Global Strategy Group (GSG), shows that candidate Mark Kelly leads Senator Martha McSally 49-42 heading into the general election. 48 percent of Arizonans view McSally unfavorably while 43 percent of voters view Kelly favorably.

The poll also finds that 64 percent of Arizona voters believe McSally is “beholden to corporate donors” while 58 percent say that she is “part of the problem in Washington.” When voters learn more about McSally’s ties to corporate special interests, especially when learning that she put their interests ahead of Arizonans, Mark Kelly’s lead jumps ahead to 14 points.
“Unelected Senator Martha McSally’s flailing favorability shows that Arizonans are fed up with her putting corporate special interests over their interests,” said ECU and LAV President Tiffany Muller. “Mark Kelly is proving he’ll be accountable to Arizonans and clean up the mess in Washington by rejecting corporate PAC money. Meanwhile, McSally has taken $2.6 million from corporate PACs and has been embroiled in multiple Federal Election Commission complaints. Rooting out government corruption is top of mind for Arizona voters, and we look forward to making sure Mark Kelly wins to bring a grassroots movement for change to Washington.”
Global Strategy Group surveyed 800 likely voters in Arizona from June 19-24, 2020. The margin of error is +/- 3.5%.
ECU and LAV endorsed Mark Kelly in April 2019 because of his commitment to rooting out corruption in Washington. The reform group has four million members nationwide, including 80,900 in Arizona, and is entirely grassroots-funded with an average donation of just $14.
