Rep. Tenney took hundreds of thousands of dollars from Wall Street and insurance industry; voted to give corporations a tax break that hurt New York families
Anthony Brindisi rejects corporate PAC money
End Citizens United (ECU) today launched a new TV ad in NY-22 highlighting the amount of money it took for Rep. Claudia Tenney to sell out New York families and give a tax break to the wealthy and big corporations. The tax bill that Tenney helped pass blew a hole in the deficit and now threatens the future of Medicare and Social Security.
The ad, titled “Sell Out,” is part of a $600,000 ad campaign that includes television ads in Syracuse and Binghamton, digital ads, and direct mail.
“Rep. Claudia Tenney is a prime example of how the rigged system in Washington is hurting everyday New Yorkers,” said ECU President Tiffany Muller. “Tenney took hundreds of thousands from Wall Street and Big Insurance and voted to give them a massive tax break, showing her willingness to sell out middle class families. Anthony Brindisi, who’s running a campaign without corporate PAC contributions, represents new leadership that can’t be bought. In Congress, he’ll champion the interests of New York families — not corporate special interests looking to pad their bottom lines.”
The $600,000 ad buy includes: $510,000 in broadcast and cable television ads, which will run from October 2-15; $30,000 in digital ads; and $50,000 in direct mail.
In December, ECU named Tenney to its Big Money 20 target list for the 2018 midterms because she puts the interests of her mega-donors ahead of her constituents. Unlike Tenney, Anthony Brindisi is running a grassroots campaign and rejects corporate PAC money.
