End Citizens United (ECU) today announced that it is launching its third ad in Missouri. The new ad exposes even more revelations about Roy Blunt’s cozy relationship with lobbyists.

Over the course of his political career, Roy Blunt has looked out for the lobbyists and special interests that have funded his campaigns. We know now about his family of lobbyists, his votes to raise his own pay, and his DC mansion. It turns out that there’s more. For years, Blunt has been spending weekends at a South Carolina beach, racking up almost half a million dollars in expenses covered by special interests and lobbyists.

“Once again, Roy Blunt has proved that everyday Missourians can’t count on him to fight for their interests,” said Tiffany Muller, End Citizens United Executive Director. “We had already discovered that Blunt has a tight-knit relationship with lobbyists and special interest groups, but these revelations heighten concerns about his conflict of interests – such as his votes against lobbying reform and campaign finance reform. As chairman of the Senate Rules Committee, he’s supposed to rein in this type of behavior — not abuse it for his own benefit.”

The ad will air as part of End Citizens United’s new $900,000 television and digital buy running in St. Louis and Kansas City through October 25.
