New ECU // LAV Poll: Freedom to Vote Act Draws Support Across Party Lines in Senate Battlegrounds

Sep 21, 2021

A poll conducted by ALG Research and commissioned by End Citizens United // Let America Vote in Senate battleground states finds that majorities of Democratic, Republican, and Independent voters support the elements of the Freedom to Vote Act. Further, voters are more willing to support a Senator who supports the legislation and believe the Senate should prioritize this legislation because it is necessary to get things done in a way that puts people first.

The poll found that by a 53-point margin, voters support (72% support/19% oppose) policies included in the Freedom to Vote Act, including 95% of Democrats, 71% of Independents, and 55% of Republicans.

“Americans, regardless of political party, believe everyone should have a voice and vote in our democracy. They know the deck is stacked against them and they want to unrig the system,” said ECU // LAV Action Fund President Tiffany Muller. “Once again, Senate Republicans are out of step with the people of this country, and they should end their filibuster blockade of anti-corruption and voting rights legislation. The Senate should do whatever it takes, including reforming its outdated procedures, to pass the Freedom to Vote Act immediately so that our government works for everyone, not just big donors and corporate interests.”
