Washington, DC — A poll of likely voters in OH-12 commissioned by End Citizens United (ECU) and conducted by Clarity Campaign Labs shows candidate Danny O’Connor polling within the margin of error in his race against Rep. Troy Balderson, 46-48 percent. Click here to read the polling memo.
The poll found Balderson in a vulnerable position with just 31% of likely voters saying that Balderson is doing a good job as congressman. Notably, 52% of independents supported O’Connor compared to just 40% for Balderson.
Clarity Campaign Labs surveyed 639 OH-12 voters on October 11-13. The margin of error is +/- 3.87%.
“Danny O’Connor continues to inspire voters in Ohio. He is running a campaign free from the influence of corporate PACs while his opponent is proving himself to be a typical Washington politician,” said Tiffany Muller, president of End Citizens United. “Today’s poll shows this race is up for grabs with momentum on O’Connor’s side as his message of reforming Washington continues to win over independent and swing voters.”
ECU endorsed Danny O’Connor in early May, citing his commitment to reform and his decision to reject corporate PAC money. Since then, ECU’s grassroots members have donated over $280,000 to O’Connor’s campaign. O’Connor is running his campaigncentered around reform. Despite running without the benefit of corporate PAC money, O’Connor has outraised Balderson by nearly 6 to 1 in the third quarter, $5.9 million to $1 million.
