NEW POLL: CA-22 Race Within Eight Points

Jun 28, 2018

In a heavily Republican district, Andrew Janz trails incumbent Devin Nunes by eight points, 41 – 49 percent

Washington, D.C. – A new poll commissioned by End Citizens United (ECU) and conducted by PPP, shows Andrew Janz, candidate for California’s 22nd Congressional District, trailing Congressman Devin Nunes by eight points, 41 to 49 percent.

“Californians have a clear choice between Congressman Nunes, who continues to interfere in the Russia investigation, and Andrew Janz, who is running on a platform of reform. That contrast combined with Janz’ rejection of corporate PAC money has upended Beltway expectations to put this race on the map,” said Tiffany Muller, president of End Citizens United.

The poll also found that 60 percent of people are more likely to support a candidate who rejects corporate special interest money. Similarly, 79 percent of respondents felt that politicians promote policies that benefit their special interests donors.

As chair of the House Intelligence Committee, Congressman Devin Nunes has come under fire for abusing his power and breaking the tradition of bipartisanship on national security issues by disseminating misleading information to undermine the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

PPP surveyed 632 likely voters from June 22-24. The margin of error is +/- 3.9.
