New Poll: Two-Thirds of Arizonans Back the Freedom to Vote Act

Nearly 60% of Arizona voters support updating Senate rules to pass the voting rights and anti-corruption legislation

A new poll from Public Policy Polling, commissioned by End Citizens United // Let America Vote Action Fund, shows that the Freedom to Vote Act is supported by a majority of Arizona voters, including 54% of Independents and 50% of Republicans. This polling is in line with other polling on the popularity of anti-corruption and voting rights legislation in Arizona.

The poll also found that a majority of Arizona voters are in favor of reforming Senate procedure to protect the freedom to vote, end dark money, and stop election sabotage attempts.

Key points from the poll:

  • After hearing a description of the Freedom to Vote Act, 66% of Arizona voters support the legislation, including 54% of Independents and 50% of Republicans.

  • Voters want the Senate to do whatever it takes to get this done.

    • 57% of Arizonans support reforming Senate procedure to protect the freedom to vote and end dark money, including 48% of Independents and 39% of Republicans.

    • 59% of Arizonans, including 45% of Independents and 42% of Republicans, support reforming Senate rules to “stop election sabotage and partisan interference in election results.”

  • By a 36-point margin (55%-19%), Arizonans are more likely to vote for a Senator who supports passing the Freedom to Vote Act than less likely.

  • Arizona voters of all parties are worried about partisan efforts to sabotage our elections, with 83% overall being concerned, including 79% of Democrats, 86% of Republicans, and 85% of Independents.
