End Citizens United’s (ECU) state-level affiliate, Fight For Reform, launched a bilingual radio and direct mail campaign totaling more than $100,000 supporting endorsed Democratic state legislative candidates. The candidates are JoAnna Mendoza (LD-11), AJ Kurdoglu (LD-17), Douglas Ervin (LD-20), Judy Schwiebert (LD-20), Kathy Knecht (LD-21), Rep. Kelli Butler (LD-28), and Christine Porter Marsh (LD-28). The ads draw a contrast between Republican legislators, who have jeopardized Arizonans’ healthcare by siding with insurance companies, and Democratic legislative candidates, who will take on corporate special interests and protect healthcare for people with pre-existing conditions.

“Why are Arizonans’ healthcare costs rising? Look no further than Republicans in the Arizona State Legislature, who have sided with Big Pharma and insurance industry donors to vote against protections for those with pre-existing conditions,” said ECU President Tiffany Muller. “Democratic legislators are standing up to corporate special interests and fighting for affordable healthcare, quality education and good-paying jobs. That’s why we need to vote for Democrats up and down the ballot to represent Arizonans come November.”
The radio ads will begin on October 6 and run through Election Day. The mail will drop in mid-October.
