NY-11: Democracy Defender Max Rose v. Election Denier Nicole Malliotakis

Aug 23, 2022

End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the results of the NY-11 primary:

“Congratulations to Max Rose on his victory. When Rose was first elected to Congress, he was committed to solving material issues affecting hard-working New Yorkers – not corporate special interests. He supported anti-corruption and voting rights legislation, introduced the Lobbyist Loophole Disclosure Act, co-wrote the Ban Corporate PACs Act, and passed the Transparency in Executive Branch Officials Finances Act. Rose is not only determined to push legislation that works for voters, but he wants to limit the influence of wealthy special interests in Washington so Congress works for working families, not corporate boardrooms. Electing him to Congress is key to protecting democracy.

“His opponent, Nicole Malliotakis, is a self-serving career politician who supported Trump’s Big Lie in 2020 by voting to overturn the will of the people. She has a record of siding with the wealthy special interests funding her campaign, voting to allow big corporations to continue to gouge prices on New Yorkers. The hard working people of New York cannot trust her to represent them because she is too busy doing the bidding of big pharma, big banks, and the telecom industry.

“Rep. Malliotakis wants to go back to Washington to fight for her corporate backers, not New York families. We need to elect Max Rose this November.”
