In his state and federal races, Saccone cashes in $39,000 from corporate PACs, Lamb refuses it
With just over a month until the special election in Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional district, the race is shaping up to be a showdown between the grassroots and corporate special interests. In his state and federal races, Rick Saccone has taken $39,000 from corporate special interests over his political career, compared to zero dollars for Conor Lamb.
Coinciding with End Citizens United’s endorsement in January, Lamb took a No Corporate PAC pledge, making the decision to focus his campaign on Pennsylvania families — not corporate special interests.
“Saccone is pledging his allegiance to deep-pocketed corporate special interests who are dishing out these checks. Pennsylvania families know that he’s already in the pockets of corporations whose primary concern is their own bottom lines,” said ECU President, Tiffany Muller. “Meanwhile, Conor Lamb continues to run a campaign powered by the people and he’s doing it without taking a single penny from corporate PACs.”
ECU is a grassroots powered organization giving a voice to millions of Pennsylvanians and Americans who want to unrig the system. The group has more than 3,600 members in PA-18. Unlike Super PACs, ECU is funded by small-dollar donors. With an average donation of just $8.80, ECU’s members have raised $150,000 in small-dollar contributions for Lamb. The group is dedicated to getting Big Money out of politics so Congress focuses on all of us and not only its biggest special interest donors.
