Fourth quarter fundraising numbers are in and it was another successful quarter for reformers. In 2019, FEC filings show that candidates rejecting corporate PAC money in battleground districts outraised candidates who accept corporate PAC contributions by an average of $340,000, proving once again that rejecting corporate PAC money galvanizes grassroots support and is not a barrier to having the resources necessary to win battleground districts.

“These reformers continue to show that rejecting corporate PAC money doesn’t hurt their ability to fundraise. They’re proving that the conventional fundraising wisdom in Washington is wrong,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “They’ve rejected corporate PAC money and in turn earned the support of the small-dollar, individual donors in battleground districts across the country. In Washington, they’ve led the charge to unrig our broken system by passing the For the People Act, the most sweeping anti-corruption and government ethics bill since Watergate. Grassroots donors are stepping up to support candidates who are fighting to unrig the broken system in Washington.”
