Rep. David Schweikert, a Big Money 20 incumbent, received a total of $37,000 from corporate PACs in Q4
In 2019, Schweikert received over $110,000 from corporate PACs
In the fourth quarter of 2019, Rep. David Schweikert (AZ-06) took $37,000 from corporate PACs, including $10,000 from Allergan PAC. Over the course of 2019, Schweikert took a whopping total of over $110,000 from corporate PACs. Rep. Schweikert’s reliance on corporate PACs underscores his campaign’s lack of support from Arizonans and his dependence on corporate special interests.
“Rep. Schweikert has worked to advance corporate special interests in Washington over Arizonans. Now, in the midst of a tough reelection, Schweikert is relying on them to boost his flailing campaign. Arizonans know these contributions are why their voices are not heard in Washington,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller.
Rep. David Schweikert’s reliance on corporate PAC money highlights how he has put corporate special interests over the needs of Arizonans. While Arizonans are crippled by the rising cost of prescription drugs, Schweikert voted against the Lower Drug Costs Now Act of 2019 (H.R. 3). H.R. 3 would empower the Department of Health and Human Services to negotiate annual prices for the 250 most expensive prescriptions on the market and establish a maximum price on negotiated drugs.
ECU’s Big Money 20 campaign is focused on holding incumbents who benefit most from the corrupt establishment in Washington accountable by showing voters how politicians put corporate special interest donors ahead of the people they’re supposed to represent.
