Davis led Republican opposition to the For The People Act, a once-in-a-generation anti-corruption bill in the House
If voters in Illinois’ 13th Congressional District want to know who Rep. Rodney Davis works for in Washington, all they have to do is follow the money. During the first quarter of 2019, Davis took in a whopping $160,000 from corporate PACs. Big banks, pharmaceutical companies, and insurance companies all kicked in to help Rep. Davis hold onto his seat in Congress in 2020.
In fact, Rep. Davis took in nearly three times as much money from corporate PACs as he did from individuals who live in Illinois during the first quarter of 2019. He has received $2.4 million from corporate PACs over the course of his career.
End Citizens United Communications Director Patrick Burgwinkle released the following statement on Rep. Davis’ first quarter fundraising report:
“It makes sense that Representative Rodney Davis would take in three times as much money from corporations as he did from Illinoisans because in Washington he works three times as hard to put corporations ahead of people. After voting last year to cut corporate taxes by billions of dollars and opposing once-in-a-generation anti-corruption legislation this year, Rodney Davis continues to rake in corporate PAC money while ignoring the concerns of Illinois families.”
