End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller released the following statement in response to the video footage of Tyre Nichols’ death:
“The brutal beating and the death of Tyre Nichols was inhumane and horrific. The video released today is a painful reminder of the injustice Black communities face every day. The police officers involved showed no regard for human life. While it is encouraging that the officers have been charged, we recognize that far too often, justice is not served due to a broken system that does not always value Black lives. We join in the demand for these officers to be held accountable. We will continue to mourn the loss of the life of Tyre Nichols and will keep his family, friends, and loved ones in our hearts.”
