Frozen food heir and conspiracy theorist Fox News host Tucker Carlson continues to spread dangerous lies and promote the QAnon agenda that led to the violent and deadly insurrection in the U.S. Capitol. With the election over, Carlson has redirected his disinformation campaign at the For the People Act (H.R.1 / S 1). While the target has changed, the talking points and misinformation about voter fraud and the election has not.
It’s no surprise that Carlson used his show on Monday night to both defend deranged QAnon supporters and attack the common sense voting provisions in H.R. 1–each argument contains the same amount of intellectual heft. He is a reactionary conspiracy theorist and nobody should take anything he says about pro-democracy legislation like the For the People Act seriously.
The For the People Act is a transformative package of pro-democracy reforms that would protect the right to vote, end the dominance of big money in politics, and restore ethics and accountability in government. It was recently re-introduced in the House as H.R. 1 and will soon be introduced in the Senate as S. 1., signifying its importance to the Democratic majorities in both Chambers.
