TX-32: ECU Stands with Rep. Colin Allred Heading to the General Election

Mar 03, 2020

End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on news that Representative Colin Allred is advancing to the general election:

“Even though he’s been in office a little over a year, Congressman Colin Allred has already established himself as a committed reformer who only works for Texas families. He doesn’t take corporate PAC money and one of the very first bills he co-sponsored and helped pass was the For the People Act, the most comprehensive anti-corruption, voting rights, and ethics bill since Watergate. Rep. Allred is changing the way Washington works and he’s making sure Texans’ voices are heard in Congress. We look forward to making sure he stays in office so he can continue the incredible work he has started.”

ECU endorsed Allred’s re-election campaign in March 2019 as part of the group’s first round of House incumbent endorsements. Allred ran on a platform of reform in 2018, and showed leadership in the passage of the For the People Act (H.R.1). The reform group has four million members nationwide, including 3,700 in TX-32, and is entirely grassroots-funded with an average donation of just $14.
