Zephyr Teachout Endorsed by End Citizens United PAC

WASHINGTON – Today, End Citizens United (ECU) PAC officially endorsed Zephyr Teachout for the U.S. House of Representatives in New York’s 19th Congressional District.  End Citizens United is a grassroots-funded organization dedicated to electing members of Congress who will fight the corrupting influence of undisclosed, unlimited money in our political system.

“Ms. Teachout has committed her career to uncovering corruption in our political system and making our elections fair and democratic,” said Reed Adamson, Senior Advisor for End Citizens United. “We have no doubt that she will carry her longstanding dedication to the halls of Congress, and our grassroots supporters will do what it takes to make sure she gets to Washington.”

End Citizens United supports candidates who are committed to campaign finance reform. Ms. Teachout has long been a recognized as a champion of meaningful reform, from testifying before Congress in support of the DISCLOSE Act to leading national grassroots advocacy efforts against special interest spending. Justice Stevens relied on her scholarly work on the history of corruption in his dissenting opinion in the Citizens United case.

End Citizens United PAC was established in March 2015 to counter the disastrous effects of Citizens United and reform our campaign finance system. ECU has raised more than $7 million from more than 500,000 contributions, with an average contribution of $14.
