ECU-Endorsed No Corporate PAC Freshmen Continue to Post Strong Q1 Numbers

Apr 16, 2019

In the first quarter of 2019, sixteen freshman Democratic House candidates who are rejecting corporate PAC money and endorsed by End Citizens United (ECU) announced that they raised over $400,000. These candidates were included in the first group of ECU-endorsed priority candidates. Last month, ECU announced a commitment to raising and spending a combined $10 million in small-dollar, grassroots donations to re-elect 26 House incumbents in competitive races.

ECU-endorsed freshman House incumbents who reject corporate PAC money and raised over $400,000:

During the 2018 election cycle, ECU led the movement among candidates to reject corporate PAC money in their campaigns. Fifty-five members of the 116th Congress are refusing to take corporate PAC money, including 36 freshmen members. The No Corporate PAC Pledge elevated the issue of money-in-politics as a top priority in the 2018 election and helped create the momentum to make a comprehensive reform bill the very first bill the new Democratic House took up as H.R. 1.
