“Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s “Clean Elections” plan is a bold, innovative proposal that will encourage more people to participate in our democracy and open up our political system to a more diverse set of candidates. These reforms are aimed at empowering everyday Americans who can’t compete with the Koch Brothers or billionaire-funded super PACs. It would make politicians accountable to their constituents, not those with the biggest checks.
“Senator Gillibrand is refusing corporate PAC money, lobbyist money, and the support of a single-candidate super PAC in her campaign and we applaud her for building on those commitments by putting forward her plan to empower small-dollar donors.
