Markowitz is rejecting corporate PAC money

End Citizens United (ECU) today endorsed Eliz Markowitz for the Texas’ 28th State House District’s special election. Markowitz is demonstrating her commitment to putting Texans first by rejecting corporate PAC money and running a campaign focused on fixing Texas’ broken political system.

“Eliz Markowitz is running a people-powered campaign that demonstrates her resolve to root out corruption in Texas,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “From the beginning of her candidacy, Eliz has put corruption and reform front-and-center in her campaign. In the Texas State House, Dr. Markowitz will work to curb the influence of money in politics and has put forth proposals to expand voter registration and fight partisan gerrymandering. End Citizens United is proud to endorse Eliz Markowitz.”

Markowitz joins ECU’s endorsed state-level candidates across the country who are committed to prioritizing reform measures such as eliminating dark money in state elections and limiting the flow of big money into campaigns.

ECU was established in March 2015 to counter the harmful effects of Citizens United and reform our campaign finance system. Its affiliated project, Fight for Reform (FFR), focuses on bringing transparency and accountability to state and local elections around the country.
