End Citizens United today officially endorsed Katie McGinty for the United States Senate.

End Citizens United (ECU) is a grassroots-funded organization that is dedicated to electing members of Congress who, like McGinty, will fight to overturn Citizens United and for campaign finance reform to remove dark money from our political system.

“Katie McGinty is a proven leader with a long track record of creating positive change in government and business, and we can count on her to lead reform efforts to undo the damage caused by Citizens United,” said Tiffany Muller, Executive Director for ECU.  “Katie is the only candidate in the race who will fight to end the rigged system in Washington by reining in unlimited dark money and its corrupting influence.  She brings the change that Pennsylvanians and Americans want and deserve, and we are proud to endorse her.”

“I am grateful for the support of End Citizens United, which is dedicated to restoring the voice of Pennsylvanian and American families in our democracy by limiting the amount of money that corporations can spend anonymously to buy our elections,” said McGinty. “Billionaire executives and corporate special interests spending unlimited, undisclosed sums to influence politicians and our elections is a threat to the American Democracy. In the Senate, I’ll work with ECU to overturn Citizens United and reform our campaign finance system to reduce the power of special interests in our elections.”

Information on the candidates endorsed by End Citizens United, including their answers to the ECU questionnaire, can be found here.

End Citizens United PAC was established in March 2015 to counter the disastrous effects of Citizens United and reform our campaign finance system. To date, more than 1.5 million grassroots members from every state and territory have taken action to support End Citizens United.
