ECU’s grassroots network stands united with Ossoff to fend off attacks from mega-donors, corporate special interests

End Citizens United (ECU) today announced that its grassroots members have given over half of a million dollars in small-dollar donations (averaging $11 per contribution) directly to Jon Ossoff’s campaign.  ECU endorsed his candidacy earlier this month.

“Georgia families are rallying behind Jon Ossoff because he will fight for them in Congress, and take on the Big Money agenda in Washington,” said Tiffany Muller, Executive Director of End Citizens United.  “Corporate special interests are spending millions of dollars in dishonest and negative attacks because they’re scared of an anti-corruption reformer who’ll fight against the rigged system.  Our grassroots network is standing united with Ossoff to fend off these attacks.”

Jon Ossoff continues to generate excitement and build momentum.  He’s leading polls, thousands of volunteers are coming out in droves to get out the vote, and with the help of ECU’s grassroots network and others, Ossoff has been able to fight back against negative attack ads.

ECU was one of the first progressive groups in the country to support Ossoff’s campaign.  The group has 40,000 members in the Atlanta metropolitan area and 70,000 across Georgia.  The grassroots-funded political action committee (PAC) is dedicated to electing members of Congress who, like Ossoff, will fight to overturn Citizens Unitedand pass meaningful campaign finance reform.

End Citizens United was established in March 2015 to counter the disastrous effects of the Citizens United decision and reform our campaign finance system.
