End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on news that ex-Congressman Jason Lewis announced a bid for Minnesota’s U.S. Senate seat:
“Minnesotans voted Jason Lewis out of office last year because he went to Washington and worked for corporate special interest donors instead of his constituents. Lewis was one of Washington’s worst, and we will defeat him again. As President Trump’s handpicked candidate for U.S. Senate, we know Lewis would go back to Washington to side with powerful special interests like the prescription drug companies, not the people of Minnesota.”
In the 2018 election cycle, ECU named Jason Lewis to its Big Money 20, a list of incumbents who represent the worst of Washington’s rigged system. ECU worked to expose Lewis’ history of siding with corporations over Minnesotans, which helped lead to his defeat in Minnesota’s second congressional district.
