End Citizens United Statement on Steyer’s Money-for-Endorsement Scheme

After the Associated Press broke the news that Tom Steyer’s presidential campaign was engaging in a money-for-endorsements scheme in Iowa, End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller released the following statement:

“The Democratic nomination is not for sale and candidates won’t be able to buy it with super PACs or corrupt backroom deals. Endorsements and support should be earned, not purchased. The right way for Tom Steyer to generate enthusiasm is to run a grassroots campaign and meet with Democratic primary voters, not orchestrate a money-for-endorsement scheme.”
