End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the the Senate’s vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
“On policy, on honesty, and on temperament, Brett Kavanaugh proved himself unfit for the Supreme Court. His confirmation was a product of the rigged system in Washington, where the deck is stacked against everyday Americans and in favor of the special interests. Not only did Washington fail hard working families across the county, but it failed courageous women like Dr. Ford, who spoke up at great risk to herself to alert the Senate of Judge Kavanaugh’s history of sexual abuse.
“While Americans’ faith in government is at a record low, their energy and desire to fix the system is at a fever pitch. We can bring change by throwing out the politicians who are serving special interests and their big donors and by electing candidates who will pass bold and sweeping reforms. We are only weeks away from the midterm elections, and that change is coming. In 2018 and beyond, through the power of the grassroots, we will usher in a wave of reformers who will ensure that all of us have a voice in our democracy.”
