Kyrsten Sinema Endorsed by End Citizens United PAC

Sep 10, 2015

WASHINGTON – Today, End Citizens United (ECU) PAC officially endorsed U.S. Representative Kyrsten Sinema (AZ-09) for reelection in Arizona’s 9th Congressional District.  End Citizens United is a grassroots-funded organization that is dedicated to electing members of Congress who will fight to overturn Citizens United and advocate for campaign finance reform to remove “dark money” from our political system.

“Even before coming to Congress, Rep. Sinema fought for cleaner elections and greater transparency,” said Richard Carbo, Communications Director for End Citizens United.  “Now more than ever, we need her in Congress to fight back against the billions of dollars of untraceable money that are corrupting our political system.  We are proud to support her for reelection, and our grassroots supporters stand ready to send Rep. Sinema back to Congress next November.”

Citizens United is one of the worst Supreme Court decisions in our country’s history,” said Rep. Sinema.  “In the state legislature, I supported efforts to strengthen Arizona’s Clean Elections Act, and in Congress, I’m fighting to increase transparency in the electoral process and return the power to elect our leaders back to the people. I look forward to working with End Citizens United on this important issue, and I thank them for their support.”

End Citizens United PAC was established in March 2015 to counter the disastrous effects of Citizens United and reform our campaign finance system.  ECU has raised more than $2 million from more than 150,000 contributions, with an average contribution of $15.  To date, more than 325,000 individuals have signed their name to a petition calling for a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United
