MSNBC today aired a national segment covering End Citizens United’s canvass kickoffs in the Richmond suburbs with Rep. Abigail Spanberger (VA-07) and several ECU-endorsed Virginia state legislative candidates.
ECU has played an important role in helping endorsed candidates run reform-focused campaigns, while also activating its grassroots network of small-dollar donors to help fund many of these candidates to take on corporate special interests. ECU has endorsed 31 candidates and invested over $100,000 directly in Virginia state legislative races. ECU led an effort among candidates to demand that anti-corruption and money-in-politics reforms be a priority for the new legislature.
