Six Reformers Earn End Citizens United’s Endorsement

Jun 11, 2018

Washington, D.C. — End Citizens United (ECU) today endorsed four candidates running for Congress, all of whom are committed to reforming Washington’s rigged system and getting Big Money out of politics. The endorsed candidates include: Mike Levin (CA-49), Ammar Campa-Najjar (CA-50), Lucy McBath, (GA-06), Cindy Axne (IA-03), Deb Haaland (NM-01), and Lizzie Pannill Fletcher (TX-07).

“If we want to see reform in Washington, we need to elect leaders who know that Big Money has no place in our elections,” said Tiffany Muller, President for End Citizens United. “These reformers are ready to get to work and fight for meaningful campaign finance reform in Congress. We’re proud to stand with them and look forward to helping them win in November.”

A recent Gallup poll shows that Americans’ faith in the government is at an all-time low, with over 90% believing the government is working for the benefit of a few special interests. A robust reform agenda is critical to winning support from voters, particularly independents. ECU’s endorsement will help these candidates compete with high-spending special interests by connecting them with its grassroots members in their own states and districts, as well as to its national network of 400,000 small-dollar donors.

End Citizens United is dedicated to getting Big Money out of politics. The group is working to elect members of Congress who will fight to overturn Citizens United and pass meaningful reforms. Established in 2015, End Citizens United has over three million members and is entirely grassroots-funded, with an average donation of just $14.
