End Citizens United (ECU) today announced that it is launching a new ad in Pennsylvania exposing Senator Pat Toomey’s history and record of looking out for the banks and not Pennsylvania families.

As a bank owner, Toomey’s bank used predatory foreclosure tactics to try to take away the homes of Pennsylvania families. And now, as a Senator on the Banking Committee, Toomey has voted to rewrite the rules to help himself and his fellow bankers – at the expense of taxpayers.

“Millionaire bank owner Pat Toomey continues to make the wrong choices for Pennsylvanians — proving that he’s out of touch with everyday Americans,” said Tiffany Muller, End Citizens United Executive Director. “He’s betrayed the trust of hard-working families by siding with the banks and by aligning himself with special interests like the Koch Brothers and Big Oil time and time again. Pennsylvanians deserve to be represented by a fighter like Katie McGinty, who will give them a voice in our democracy and stand up to the billionaires and corporate interests.”

The ad will air as part of End Citizens United’s new $900,000 television and digital buy. It will air in Pittsburgh and Wilkes-Barre through November 1.  End Citizens United will also contact voters in Pennsylvania through a $200,000 direct mail program.

Backup for the ad can be viewed here.

Voiceover:
The Millionaire bank owner Pat Toomey.
Toomey’s bank loaned money to small business owners who put their own houses up as collateral.
Then, times got tough. So Toomey’s bank used predatory foreclosure practices banned in most states to try taking away at least twenty of those homes.
Now, Toomey’s a Senator. On the Banking Committee.
Voting to rewrite rules that help…bankers.
Is millionaire Pat Toomey just helping himself?
Bank on it.
