(Forbes) Activist group End Citizens United filed a similar complaint against Santos with the FEC, and the congressman faces several complaints with other federal agencies as well. Both End Citizens United and American Bridge 21st Century filed complaints with the Office of Congressional Ethics, with the American Bridge complaint centered on the alleged issues with Santos’ financial disclosures while End Citizens United focused on Santos’ campaign using the congressman’s swearing-in as a fundraising tool. (Santos offered donors free round trip transportation to the swearing-in ceremony and access to a special luncheon and Capitol tour.) Meanwhile, End Citizens United requested the Justice Department investigate whether Santos violated the Ethics in Government Act by not submitting “timely, accurate, and complete financial disclosure reports,” including by failing to file any disclosure in 2021.
