“Once again, Max Rose is raising the bar. By rejecting money from federal lobbyists – in addition to corporate PACs – Max is proving he won’t be bought and sold by Big Money special interests,” said Tiffany Muller, president of End Citizens United. “While Max is taking bold action and showing real leadership for the people of NY-11, Dan Donovan continues to line his pockets with corporate cash and K street money. New York deserves better.”

ARMY VETERAN MAX ROSE PLEDGES TO REFUSE FEDERAL LOBBYIST DONATIONS
Calls on Donovan to Join Him and Donate Any Corporate PAC and Federal Lobbyist Donations
NEW YORK – Today, Army Veteran and Democratic Congressional Candidate for New York’s 11th District, Max Rose, announced that he would not be accepting any campaign donations from federal lobbyists.
Rose is donating the amount totaling $4,151.28, to the Stephen Siller Foundation Smart Home Program, which helps build homes for veterans wounded in combat.
“Staten Islanders and South Brooklynites deserve to know that when their representatives are casting a vote, they are putting the district first, not their donors. Today, I’m not just saying I won’t be bought off; I’m putting action behind it. In addition to refusing all Corporate PAC money, I will no longer accept any money from federal lobbyists – and any donations I have received I will be donating to charity,” said Max Rose. “This Congress hasn’t done a thing to end our traffic nightmare or substantially combat the drug epidemic, but it has taken away deductions for teachers to buy classroom supplies and caused our health care costs to soar to appease their donors.”
After making his pledge, Max Rose then called on his Republican opponent to find the courage to do the same.
“It’s time we get money out of politics, and I am calling on Dan Donovan to join me in not only refusing this money but to return any money he has received from Corporate PACs and federal lobbyists. This is his chance to show he’s putting Staten Islanders and South Brooklynites first,” said Rose.
The Max Rose campaign has already shown that they do not need the support of federal lobbyists or corporate PACs to win the NY-11 race.
Without taking a cent from corporate PACs, Max Rose has secured a 3-1 cash on hand advantage over his Republican opponent, Dan Donovan. Since the pre-primary filing, Rose has raised $340,000 which brings his total to more than $700,000 for the most recent fundraising quarter. These contributions, which do not include any donations from corporate PAC’s, bring the total campaigns cash on hand to more than $1,250,000.
This support dwarfs Dan Donovan’s cash-on-hand report of $396,103.14. In his last filing, Donovan reporters $58,950 from corporate PACs, bringing his total amount of corporate PAC money to $471,050.
