(Morning Score) Justice Unites Us, an effort that formed earlier this year to mobilize Asian American and Pacific Islander voters for 2022, in partnership with End Citizens United/Let America Vote is launching a $450,000 get out the vote program targeting AAPI voters in Clark County, Nevada, to support Democratic candidates. “If AAPI voters in Clark County turn out to vote this November, Democrats will win up and down the ballot,” honorary co-chair of Justice Unites Us Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) said in a statement. “Our community already showcased its power in 2020 when we voted in record numbers for President Biden and progressives across the country. That reality underscores the need for progressives to make strategic investments in mobilizing the AAPI community.” Clark County has the highest AAPI population in the state, and there are over 180,000 AAPI individuals in the citizen voting age population of the county, according to Asian and Pacific Islander American Vote, a nonpartisan nonprofit. Clark County is key to the outcome of the battleground Senate race, a seat that Democrats are vying to hold to keep the Senate, as well as a trio of highly competitive House races.
