A political action committee supporting campaign finance reform will announce later Monday that it will go on the air in mid-August with a new television ad in support of Gov. Maggie Hassan in the New Hampshire U.S. Senate race.
It will be the third television ad released by End Citizen United since March, and the first by its independent expenditure arm. The group said the buy will be $1.4 million on broadcast and cable television, including New Hampshire and Boston stations, and will air Aug. 16-29.
In a statement provided first to WMUR.com, Tiffany Muller, End Citizens United executive director, said: “In New Hampshire, Maggie Hassan brought people together across party lines to solve problems and get things done, and she’s committed to bringing an end to the corrupting influence of unlimited, undisclosed spending in our elections.”
“She’ll continue that work and bring reform to Washington, where Senator Ayotte has sided with the Koch Brothers and helped corporate special interests rig the system at the expense of New Hampshire.”
