With just weeks to go until Election Day, we’re highlighting some of the biggest Republican scandals from this election cycle.
JD Vance is always looking for the right words to say, but really doesn’t know how to keep a promise.
He told Ohioans that he wouldn’t accept corporate PAC money, and then promptly broke that promise. Vance began accepting money from special interests after receiving the Republican nomination–when in Rome, right?
Vance promised to help Ohio families affected by the opioid epidemic through a charity, but didn’t actually help a single Ohioan, and betrayed them by bringing in a Big Pharma executive with ties to Purdue Pharma for a yearlong residency in Ohio’s Appalachian region. He further exploited Ohio families by using the sham charity as a launchpad for his political career.
JD Vance is hoping that you’ll wait around a while till you fall for him, but Ohio deserves better than constant lies. We’re dedicating When In Rome’s “The Promise” to Vance as a reminder of what making a promise actually sounds like, and it doesn’t involve misleading voters.
