End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement in response to Tammy Murphy’s opposition to filibuster reform, arguing to the New Jersey Monitor that the U.S. Senate filibuster is, “a very useful piece of the puzzle”:
“The only useful thing the filibuster has done is block efforts to root out Washington corruption, protect the right to vote, codify abortion rights, pass life-saving gun safety legislation, and address climate change. Congressman Andy Kim has been leading these fights in Congress and knows that in order to make the necessary changes we need, filibuster reform must be at the top of the agenda. New Jersey needs a leader who’s ready to get to work making change on day one and that’s clearly Congressman Kim.”
