End Citizens United adds $750,000 to go on air in Green Bay and La Crosse, and online in Madison
Total buy at $1.25 million to push back against Ron Johnson’s special interest allies
End Citizens United (ECU) today expanded its ad campaign in Wisconsin in an effort to push back against a barrage of attacks by Senator Ron Johnson’s special interest allies, which have spent millions of dollars on dishonest, negative attacks against Russ Feingold.
ECU is adding $550,000 for television in Green Bay and La Crosse as well as $200,000 for digital in Madison. Yesterday, the grassroots-funded political action committee announced it was launching a $500,000 television ad campaign in Milwaukee.
In total, ECU is spending $1.25 million in Wisconsin through the election.
“Corporate special interests are pouring money into Wisconsin in a last-minute attempt to save Senator Johnson because they know Russ Feingold has a proven record of reform. His victory is one of our top priorities, and we’re confident that he is going to win. But we won’t allow those attacks to stand without a response, and we’re ensuring that Wisconsinites know the truth about Senator Johnson’s record,” said ECU Executive Director Tiffany Muller.
End Citizens United, which has more than 65,000 members in Wisconsin, has endorsed Feingold, who was a lead sponsor of major, bipartisan campaign finance reforms that have since largely been unraveled by the Supreme Court’s disastrous Citizens United decision. The grassroots-funded political action committee has also named Feingold as one of its Champions of Democracy.

What greases the gears in Washington?
Money. And Ron Johnson fits right in.
Six years ago, Johnson took a shady, ten-million-dollar corporate payout
…went to Washington…
Then voted to protect twenty-one-billion in tax breaks for the world’s biggest oil companies.
Twenty-one billion.
A Wisconsin Senator protecting tax breaks for oil companies.
That’s Ron Johnson. That’s Washington.
And he fits…right…in.
