“The House Republicans’ H.R.1 is not intended to help everyday Americans with energy costs. A look through the smokescreen shows that this bill is merely another handout from extremist Republicans seeking to appease their Big Oil & Gas donors, regardless of the negative impact the bill has on the health and financial well-being of our families, or on our planet’s health.
“While House Republicans are working on their Big Oil & Gas giveaway bill, Senate Democrats will be working to ensure that there is increased transparency and accountability when lobbyists seek to influence our lawmakers. This week, a Senate Committee will vote on the Lobbying Disclosure Improvement Act and the Disclosing Foreign Influence in Lobbying Act. The contrast is striking. Democrats are focused on cracking down on corruption and protecting the freedom to vote as MAGA Republicans can’t help but push for legislation that will benefit their corporate donors at the expense of everyone else.
