End Citizens United and Let America Vote Congratulate Congressman Dean Phillips on General Election Victory in MN-03

Nov 04, 2020

Phillips rejects donations from PACs, special interest groups, federal lobbyists or his fellow members of Congress and their campaign committees and also led the charge to pass the For the People Act, a once-in-a-generation reform bill

End Citizens United (ECU) and Let America Vote (LAV) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement congratulating Congressman Dean Phillips on winning re-election in Minnesota’s Third Congressional District:

“Congratulations to Congressman Dean Phillips. As the Vice Chair of the Democracy Reform Task Force and a leader in passing the For the People Act, Congressman Phillips has a track record of getting things done for Minnesotans, not corporate special interests. Phillips kept his promises from 2018 and fought against Big Money’s influence in politics by standing up to Big Pharma. Minnesotans re-elected Dean because he’s fought corruption at every turn and made progress on critical issues impacting their daily lives. We look forward to continuing working alongside Congressman Phillips in the fight against Washington corruption in his second term.”

ECU and LAV endorsed Dean Phillips for re-election in March 2019 as part of the group’s first round of House incumbent endorsements because of his commitment to unrig the broken system in Washington. ECU raised over $25,000 in small dollar grassroots contributions from its members this cycle to Phillips’ campaign. Phillips, who ran on a platform of reform in both 2018 and 2020, rejects corporate PAC money and showed leadership in the passage of the For the People Act (H.R.1). The reform group has four million members nationwide, including 8,300 in MN-03, and is entirely grassroots-funded with an average donation of just $14.
