“Tonight, Vice President Joe Biden demonstrated that he is the leader for the moment to restore the soul of our nation. His career of fighting to make sure our government is working for the people stood in stark contrast to Donald Trump, who is the most corrupt President in modern history and has spent his presidency enriching himself, his family, and the corporate special interests.
“As President, Joe Biden will defend the right to vote and has already committed to leading on a set of comprehensive reforms like those reflected in the For the People Act (H.R. 1) as a first priority of his new Administration. He knows we need to end corporate special interest control over Washington once and for all and protect the voice and vote of every American.
“The stakes of a general election have never been greater. Joe Biden proved in tonight’s debate that his competency, decency, and leadership will guide us through these unprecedented times in our country’s history and restore faith in our democracy.”
