End Citizens United Congratulates Congresswoman-Elect Laura Gillen on Critical Victory

Nov 07, 2024

End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement congratulating Congresswoman-elect Laura Gillen on being elected to New York’s 4th Congressional District:

“Congratulations to Congresswoman-elect Gillen on an incredible win. Her victory is a testament to voters’ desire to turn the page on corrupt, self-dealing politicians and elect those willing to fight for them. We’re proud to have supported Congresswoman-elect Gillen in this race and are excited to work with her in Congress to root out corruption and protect our democracy.”

Muller joined Gillen on the campaign trail to help get out the vote. ECU has led the charge in holding corrupt Rep. Anthony D’Esposito accountable. In April 2023, ECU filed a complaint against Rep. D’Esposito alleging that he illegally transferred funds and resources from his statewide fundraising committee to his federal fundraising committee. In October 2024, ECU filed another complaint on potential violations including engaging in sexual relations with a subordinate employee, compensating an employee for work that was not performed, employing a relative, and engaging in conduct that discredits the House of Representatives. It’s no surprise that ECU named Rep. D’Esposito to its “Most Corrupt” politicians list.

ECU is dedicated to combating the two biggest challenges facing our democracy: the corrosive impact of Big Money and attempts to block access to the ballot box. Since its founding in 2015, the group has had over 1 million donors and raised $200 million, with an average donation of just $14. The group has more than four million members nationwide.
