End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement congratulating Senator Amy Klobuchar on being reelected to the United States Senate in Minnesota:
“Congratulations to Senator Klobuchar on her resounding reelection victory. She’s a true champion of democracy and understands that in order to tackle the serious challenges we face as a nation, we must end the stranglehold of Big Money in politics and make comprehensive reforms to root out corruption in government. That’s why she rejects corporate PAC money and is leading the charge to hold corporate special interests accountable. We’ve been incredibly fortunate and grateful to work with Senator Klobuchar, whether it’s in Congress or on the campaign trail, to help elect more candidates who are committed to protecting our democracy. We’re excited to see the work Senator Klobuchar will accomplish during her next term, and we look forward to our continued partnership.”
Senator Klobuchar, chair of the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration and lead sponsor of the Freedom to Vote Act, has been a key leader in the fight to root out corruption, protect our democracy, and secure the right to vote. ECU was proud to endorse her reelection and joined her on the campaign trail at events in Minnesota and in support of democracy champions in Arizona and Maryland.
ECU is dedicated to combating the two biggest challenges facing our democracy: the corrosive impact of Big Money and attempts to block access to the ballot box. Since its founding in 2015, the group has had over 1 million donors and raised $200 million, with an average donation of just $14. The group has more than four million members nationwide.
