End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement congratulating Senator-elect Andy Kim on being elected to the United States Senate in New Jersey:
“Congratulations to Senator-elect Kim on his impressive and well-deserved victory. We’ve been proud to support him from his very first campaign, through the hard-fought Senate primary, and in the general election. Each of his victories have proven the strength of grassroots, people-powered campaigns and the power of standing up to special interests by rejecting corporate PAC money. Even as the machine-style politics and party bosses threw everything at him, Senator-elect Kim’s pro-democracy, anti-corruption message resonated loud and clear with New Jerseyans eager to turn the page to a new generation of leadership rooted in trust and integrity. We’re incredibly excited to continue working with him in the U.S. Senate.”
ECU was the first national organization to endorse Senator-elect Kim’s Senate campaign. Muller traveled to New Jersey multiple times to support Senator-elect Kim’s election efforts and ECU launched an ad campaign to support his campaign in April 2024. Since his first campaign in 2018, of which ECU was top supporter, Senator-elect Kim has refused to take a dime of corporate PAC money, and earned an “A+” on ECU’s legislative scorecard for the 118th Congress.
ECU is dedicated to combating the two biggest challenges facing our democracy: the corrosive impact of Big Money and attempts to block access to the ballot box. Since its founding in 2015, the group has had over 1 million donors and raised $200 million, with an average donation of just $14. The group has more than four million members nationwide.
