End Citizens United Endorses Aghogho Edevbie for Michigan Secretary of State

Mar 06, 2025

End Citizens United (ECU) today endorsed Deputy Secretary of State Aghogho Edevbie for Michigan Secretary of State, citing his commitment to protecting and expanding voting rights and taking on dark money in elections.

“Aghogho Edevbie has the leadership, vision, and determination to be a fantastic secretary of state,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “Michigan has become a top target for corrupt politicians and special interests trying to manipulate elections to serve their own agenda. But with Aghogho in office, we know he’ll protect every Michigan voter’s right to cast a ballot and ensure politicians can’t get in their way of exercising their rights. We’re proud to endorse him, and we look forward to helping him win.”

“I’m honored to have the support of End Citizens United, a group that shares my belief that the right to vote is one of the most fundamental freedoms in our democracy,” said Aghogho Edevbie. “Michigan voters deserve free and fair elections––and they deserve to know their leaders are working for them, not the wealthy special interests. As secretary of state, I will fight tirelessly to expand access, strengthen election security, and increase transparency so that Michigan voters can have confidence in their democracy.”

Edevbie is committed to strengthening Michigan’s election system by integrating early voting, absentee voting, and Election Day voting into a seamless process that ensures every voter has a say. He will work to protect voting rights from federal attacks by working with the state legislature to pass key safeguards. He’s deeply committed to ending the corrosive and corrupting influence of dark money in our elections, and will work to eliminate the loopholes that allow legislators to raise unlimited amounts of money for their campaigns.

ECU is a grassroots campaign finance grassroots organization dedicated to rooting out corruption and protecting voting rights. During the 2022 election cycle, ECU played a pivotal role in helping elect secretaries of state throughout the country. This includes Michigan, where the group supported Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson with campaign ads, raising money directly to her campaign, GOTV efforts, and more. The group has more than 4 million members nationwide.
