End Citizens United (ECU) today endorsed Danny O’Connor in Ohio’s 12th Congressional District for the special election in August.
“Danny has worked his whole life helping others who have been left behind by the rigged system, and fighting for reform. He will bring that same fight to Congress.” said Tiffany Muller, president of End Citizens United. “End Citizens United is proud to be an early supporter of his campaign.”
“I’m running to serve the people of the 12th district because for too long, central Ohio families haven’t had enough people looking out for them in Congress. Washington is broken because deep-pocketed special interests are calling the shots while hardworking families are falling behind. I’m proud to have ECU’s endorsement because together we’re going to fix our campaign finance laws and get Congress working for the people again,”said Danny O’Connor.
The endorsement will help O’Connor compete with high-spending special interest groups by connecting him with its more than 4,300 grassroots members in OH-12, as well as its national network of 400,000 small-dollar donors.
In the Pennsylvania 18 special election in March, ECU was the first national group to endorse Conor Lamb, and worked with his campaign to build a grassroots network of small-dollar donors and volunteers. ECU had a $550,000 impact on the race, raising $300,000 directly for Lamb and spending an additional $250,000 on television and digital ads. ECU also played an important role in the Alabama and Arizona 8th special election, raising over $600,000 and $200,000 in small-dollar donations for the respective campaigns.
ECU is an entirely grassroots-funded political action committee dedicated to electing members of Congress who will fight to get Big Money out of politics so Congress focuses on all of us and not only its biggest special interest donors.
