End Citizens United // Let America Vote Celebrates Native American Heritage Month

Nov 01, 2023

End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller released the following statement in honor of Native American Heritage Month:

“We commemorate and pay homage to Native and Indigenous Americans during Native American Heritage Month. They were the first to call our land home, and we recognize them as the true originators of American democracy. As we celebrate this month, it’s imperative to acknowledge that there continues to be unkept promises and significant progress to be made as these communities still face discriminatory challenges to their fundamental democratic rights.

“Due to the deliberate efforts of anti-democratic policymakers, Native and Indigenous Americans have been disenfranchised through oppressive voter suppression laws.

“We stand firmly against the exclusion of Native and Indigenous communities from our democracy and will continue working to ensure Native and Indigenous Americans have equitable access to the ballot box for their voices to be amplified. We recommit ourselves to pushing forward inclusive and equitable policies that uphold the true spirit of democracy to ensure that every American, regardless of background, has the right to participate fully in shaping the future of our nation.”
