End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the results of the Democratic primary for Georgia Attorney General:
“Congratulations to Jen Jordan on winning the Democratic primary for Georgia Attorney General. Throughout her career, Jen has prioritized rooting out corruption and protecting the freedom to vote. She’s fought corruption in Georgia judicial elections, spoken out against extreme partisan gerrymandering that denies voters fair representation, and just last week rolled out a bold voting rights agenda with leaders from across the state. We look forward to helping her win this November.”
Jordan is running against AG Chris Carr, a corrupt, self-serving politician who is beholden to his wealthy corporate special interest donors and used taxpayer money to defend Georgia’s anti-voting law SB 202 that attacks absentee voting, criminalizes Georgians who give water to their neighbors waiting in line to vote, and has allowed the state to takeover county elections and purge local trusted election officials and instead install partisan politicians who put political interests ahead of ensuring every Georgian has the freedom to vote.
Earlier this year, while Carr was supposed to be negotiating a settlement with Big Pharma companies who exploited hard working Georgians to exacerbate the opioid crisis, he was caught taking money from the same drug companies he was supposed to be going after. This is exactly the type of pay-to-play politics that Georgians are sick and tired of, and is why they’ll elect anti-corruption champion Jen Jordan this November.
