End Citizens United // Let America Vote Endorses Neil Makhija for Montgomery County Commissioner

Apr 19, 2023

End Citizens United (ECU) // Let America Vote (LAV) today endorsed Neil Makhija for Montgomery County Commissioner in Pennsylvania.

“At a time when extremist politicians seek to limit our freedom to vote, we need someone in charge of Montgomery County who will stand up to these nefarious efforts. Neil Makhija’s advocacy and expertise in protecting our freedom to vote speaks for itself,” said ECU // LAV President Tiffany Muller. “County Commissioners serve as a crucial part of the checks and balances system that protects America’s free and fair elections – the cornerstone of our democracy. We’re proud to endorse Neil Makhjia, and look forward to helping him win.”

“Overseeing the Board of Elections as a County Commissioner shouldn’t be as controversial or political as it has become,” said Neil Makhija. “Voters deserve a public servant who will put partisanship aside to do everything they can to make the people’s voice heard. I’m honored to be endorsed by ECU and LAV, and will work hard to fight against corruption and attacks on our democracy.”

Neil Makhija is recognized in Pennsylvania, in the AAPI community, and by President Joe Biden as a dedicated civil rights leader. Makhija was a strong ally of ECU // LAV in the fight to pass the For The People Act, bringing his expertise of election law to the table when working with prominent voting rights advocates, and mobilizing South Asian voters.

ECU // LAV is dedicated to combating the two biggest challenges facing our democracy: the corrosive impact of Big Money and attempts to block access to the ballot box. Since its founding in 2015, the group has had over 1 million donors and raised $200 million, with an average donation of just $14. The group has more than four million members nationwide.
