End Citizens United // Let America Vote today endorsed Stacey Abrams for Governor of Georgia.
Throughout her career, Abrams has been an outspoken leader in the fight to protect the freedom to vote in Georgia, speaking up for Georgia families being left behind, and ensuring that every Georgian has the opportunity for success, not just those with access to power. From leading successful, bipartisan efforts to protect Georgians from a corporate tax scam, to founding and leading Georgia organizations that empower and protect communities of color and marginalized communities, to her advocacy for lower health care costs and Medicaid expansion, Abrams has always stood on the side of hard-working Georgia families.
Abrams’ advocacy helped pass the CARES Act, which saved lives, allowed more Americans to vote by mail, and delivered $400 million in funding to help states conduct elections during the pandemic. Her organizing efforts in Georgia over the course of the past decade alongside allied organizations and grassroots activists enabled a national debate about federal legislation to protect the freedom to vote and helped the near passage of the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act, an anti-corruption and voting rights bill that would protect the voice and vote of all Georgians, especially in communities of color, stop partisan gerrymandering, and end dark money, so billionaires and corporations could no longer drown out the voices of the people of Georgia.
