“Our democracy is facing a clear and present danger. Self-serving politicians and dark money groups are silencing the voices of potentially tens of millions of voters through radical anti-voter laws and extreme partisan gerrymandering and are putting in place the pieces to sabotage or overturn our elections. The President’s and Vice President’s call to pass the Freedom to Vote Act and John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, and to update Senate procedure to do so with a simple majority vote, is welcomed. We look forward to the Administration’s full efforts in helping pass these critical bills.”
